To The King Above All

the cross

1.Great love
Great grace
Separated from man
Separated from me
Separated from you
Give blame to the serpent
Give eve a portion
leave Adam just a bit
All the same
All mankind
Left to the reprobate mind
From where would our reconciliation come?
Who will heal our diseases?
Who will save our souls?
Oh! this terrible curse upon us
Who would give us hope?

2.Raised above all
Respected
Revered
And higher than all
He was the first after our God in the heavens
He saw in us what we didn’t see in ourselves
To show us who we could be
He took up a mission for me
For me? Yes, For me!
To bring us back to the love of the father
A mission that should never have been for one so high
But there was none
With enough love to take up this task
To take up the assignment
And test the love of his father

2b.To be oppressed,
Afflicted,
Despised,
and Rejected by mankind
A being of a different kind
To take our form
In the form of a man of suffering
Forced to familiarize himself with pain
Tortured and held in low esteem
Took up our pain
And bore our suffering
To be pierced for our transgressions
To be crushed for our iniquities;
tortured and put-down for our salvation
But born to give us hope.

3.Cuz (Finally)
(And) a whisper
Of a prayer
Was heard
Rejection through our sins,
To be redeemed only by blood
Darkness shall make way to light
Ah! a Light has dawned
For unto us a child is born
Unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulders
And He shall be called
Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God,
Everlasting Father,
Prince of peace,
Deliverer,
Our greatest hope
Our salvation.

4. Therefore therefore,
Oh people, oh people;
Burst into songs of joy
Let us raise our voices with songs of praise
To the king of all
To the king of all!
For,
The blind shall receive sight
The lame shall receive flight
The Laborer shall be rewarded
The Barren shall conceive
The dead shall live again!
The deaf shall hear
For our savior is here!
